I was a professional writer of movies and television for 25 years (1994-2019.) For 12 years before that I was an office temp, script-reader, ghost-autobiographer and DIY filmmaker.
My credits include theatrical motion pictures, no-budget indies, TV staff positions and series episodes, original cable movies. But IMDB doesn’t list the rewrite jobs and scripts-for-hire that were never made or were credited to other writers — in my case, more than 20 additional features, cable movies and TV episodes.
I have written horror, sci-fi action, romantic comedy, caper comedy, heartwarming holiday movies and thrillers. I’ve adapted novels, non-fiction books and the Bible. I wrote an original audio-drama spun off from a hit series.
My work won an Emmy Award, multiple festival prizes, a fellowship from the New York Foundation For The Arts, and was nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award.
In 2020 I created a YouTube channel to teach creative writing, with a focus on screenwriting: it includes 50 short “lesson” videos and over 450 livestreams.
Now I’m here to practice what I preach: creating new work and sharing the process — in case it’s helpful or entertaining, and because why-not.
I believe art is, first and most-crucially, a joy — not a business — and we might as well use this miraculous technology to explore and create, right up until that moment when it destroys civilization and kills us all.
